I am researching a Victorian nurse, Harriet Coster (b. c1833, Shacklewell Middlesex). She was an important figure in the late 19th century nursing world in London (Matron of St GEorge's Hospital). She had been married to William Coster (b c1829 Plymouth devon) a surgeon. they had several children but most did not survie. One who did was Ernest T Coster (b c1870, Hanwell Middelsex). He emigrated to Canada c 1886, found in 1906 census in Saskatchwen. married to Mary Jane with 8 children. One of these was also Ernest T, b c1893. He married Madeleine who may have been from Pontiac Michigan. He visited Detorit several times in late 1920s and must ahve moved there or thereabouts at some point. He died in 1989 in Auburn heights, Oakland, Michigan.
This is a long shot. I am writing a biography of Harriet (the Victorian nurse) and desparate for some pictures of her. her husband was an amateur photographer and he must have taken photos of her. Most of her worldly goods were left to son Ernest on her death, so I am hoping (beyond hope?) that if Madeleine and Ernest T had any children, they may have inherited family photos from England?
Can anyone help?
